July 4, 2009 @ The Boradmoor was a special day for our friends. We sang patriotic songs, decorated our common areas in red, white & blue, played July 4th themed word search games and most important remembered those who gave everything for our freedom. God bless the USA!
Jenna made sure we were staying in our patriotic theme, she had her red, white & blue on and carried her American flag, waving it proudly. Jenna is with, Jean, Emily and one of our volunteers Evelyn. Ev as she likes to be referred to is priceless to us, she spends her time helping us enjoy our day. God bless our volunteers
Our cookout was wonderful with all the fixens’. We all had our fill of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and watermelon….YUM-YUM!
We also had some wonderful desserts from Publix to carry our patriotic theme through to our happy bellies…we were so full of joy and good food on this Independence Day!
Enjoy our memories of this wonderful day we had together.
Thank you for visiting…we love company!

This was a special weekend at The Broadmoor, we celebrated our nations Independence and my friend Emily was visiting. Emily has many talents, one is her wonderful ability to draw. Here is some of her work. I love when Emily does special things for Charlie and me. Even though, she is only 7 yrs old, Emily is an old soul, like me. We are BFF.
Stay tuned for more of my adventures with my friend Emily.

Jenna and I had a great time with the young people @ Camp Good Grief on Tuesday, June 23rd. Jenna is a HosPet volunteer with Hospice. It is our pleasure to be involved. The reception we received was amazing by everyone at camp. Jenna was thrilled to meet the children, she was so happy to be with the kids.
One of Jenna’s new commands is reading and she was a good girl! The children were thrilled. Jenna has worked very diligent on learning to read some of her commands, sit, get and down. She did a great job with completing the three commands by looking at the word. We will be adding to her knowledge of reading. She is eager to learn.
If you are interested in volunteering with Hospice, please contact, Jan Novack, Volunteer Administrator Assistant Coordinator @ gnovack@TCHospices.org. Tell them Jenna sent you!
We are looking forward to returning next year and meeting some new friends and seeing some old friends.
Treasure Coast Hospice is amazing and Camp Good Grief is such an amazing tool to assist these children with losing a loved one. We were honored to be a part of Camp Good Grief 2009.

There are amazing young people all over this world. We were blessed to have such a group visit us at the Broadmoor on Saturday, June 13, 2009 to raise their voices to the heavens and lift our spirits. The Liberty Truth & Deliverance Youth Mission-Group are truly amazing. This very talented and dedicated youth vary in ages from 6 yrs through young teens. Such talent! The residents were thrilled and we were thoroughly entertained and ministered too. Just when one may give up on our youth…Don’t, this is another wonderful display of God working in everyone and yes our young. The LTD Youth Mission group volunteers their time to practice and visit those in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. This dedicated group shares their gifts and talents with so many, that would not be able to hear their beautiful voices, through their calling to minister with joy, enthusiasm and the love of our heavenly Father.
The devoted group of young people are under the leadership of Missionary April Barber and the faithful parents are instrumental in the success of this mission. God bless our youth and their dedicated parents, Missionary April and Pastor William Copland for their vision within this amazing outreach program.
Missionary April Barber may be contacted through aprilbrbr@yahoo.com
We are excited about their next visit.

Jenna & I had a great time helping the residents prepare the baked goodies on Saturday for our Father’s Day party on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Our theme for this grand day is “Tie One On” in honor of our Dad’s. With the donation of over 40 ties, each resident that is willing will wear a tie for the day. Jenna will also wear a tie in honor of her breeder Dad, still a top breeder for Canine Companions for Independence, he is in California, loving his job…teehee!
On Saturday, we baked cookies and cupcakes. The decorating of our goodies was fun…we had cake batter & icing all over those participating in this fun activity. Licking the spoons was the best! Just ask Harry & Rick!
Our friend Evelyn volunteers and we love seeing her. She was the first to donate ties for our Dad’s.
Jenna loves her family at the Broadmoor, indeed the love is returned!
