This is my friend, Emily. We have a good time together. Emily gives me commands and I listen to her. Charlie gives Emily instructions on my commands, leash management and the most special incentive for me is saying “that’s it” as encouragement to me while I am completing the command I was given. Emily is Charlie’s # 1 Assistant. Emily listens and learns! We are learning together.
This was a resting place for me on the stairs with Emily, I love having my head rest on her lap. I’m in a good place!
Thank you for reading about the beginnings of our adventures, trust me we will have many more “adventures” to share.
My friend Emily is a great artist! I love her subject matter!

Our friend, Joan invitied my Mom, Raye and I to there annual fashion show. It was held at Pantherwoors Country Club. We had a great time. There was a silent auction, great food and lots of pretty hats. Did I mention there was a “hat contest”? My preperation started one week before this event. Charlie told the residents at the Broadmoor about wanting to enter me in the hat contest. The residents were thrilled to help. Many brought an item for my hat. Charlie had the glue gun and the rest is history. It was such fun seeing my hat being created. Although, I must add, I didn’t like wearing the hat and still don’t…. That part doesn’t matter, what matters is that my hat won! Yep, and we won a beautiful silk flower arrangement. How cool. My Mom has the arrangement, she commented on it when she first saw it and even said to me “I’d like to win that”! I delivered! Girls Rule!

It was a great day on March 28, 2009 and for a much need cause @ the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk at Tradition in beautiful Port St. Lucie, Florida. I was thrilled to see my friend Emily in the crowd. I had my own T-shirt and wore it proudly. Our Team, “Team Awareness” won the T-shirt design contest and it was such an honor being part of this fundraiser.
There were pet dogs at this event, so I was able to spend time and meet all kinds of nice people and play with one of my own kind…YIPEE!
We hope to have the same wonderful experience next year. The Alzheimer’s Association works tirelessly and would welcome anyone that wishes to be a part of this amazing process to contact them. There is a need for any and all volunteers. Asking the community to partner with them with give-a-ways or donation of food or beverages for this event. Please contact @ dianeblack44@bellsouth.net
We hope to see you there next year. I am available for photographs…teehee!
